The Ladies’ Captain’s Drive-In took place on 1 January 2017 and Angela Williams - incoming Ladies’ Captain- arrived on the course on a traditional Dutch bicycle and dressed in traditional costume of her country of origin. She put a ball down on the 18th green for Pam Frederiksen, the outgoing Ladies’ Captain, to putt out which signified the end of Pam’s captaincy year.
After the Club Captain’s Drive in, all went into the clubhouse for the Captain’s inaugural address and the introduction of the charity for the year which is Woking and Sam Beare Hospices. The first fund raising event by the ladies was the annual Ladies’ Coffee morning and raffle on 9 Jan where the total profit of the morning was £331.

Windlesham Cup WIN
Congratulations are due the Ladies' team of Lynne Watkins, Vanessa Nicholls , Carol Slater, Pauline Turner, Di Brierley, Jenny Rodgers, Cathy Dawson and Clare Cull on winning the Windlesham Cup in 2016, the sixth time that WB Ladies have won this trophy since the competition began in 2003. They had a superb score over six rounds in a six month period in this stroke play competition for players with a maximum handicap of 14.
West Byfleet Ladies Golf & Coffee Day
On 14 October, we held our second Golf & Coffee Morning for 2016 and like the earlier event, it was oversubscribed with 96 ladies playing from 21 different clubs both near and far. The weather, although a little chilly was dry and the course was in excellent condition. Our charities this year, White Lodge Centre for disabled children and adults and the British Red Cross benefitted greatly from the Ladies generosity.

Ladies Autumn Invitation Meeting 2016
The Ladies Invitation meeting was played in the autumn sunshine at the end of September. This was the first time that the Invitation meeting was organised in an informal style with a relaxed dress code and a light lunch. The day began with a shotgun start for the twenty one teams of four players. Each team had either two or three guests playing a team competition and a great day was had by all. The winning team consisting of Tina Davis, Mandy Cuthill, Ange Crooke and Ann McMahon scored 85 pts.
Success for our talented Junior Girl golfer in 2016
Sarah Jane Dalgliesh has been the Surrey Girls Captain this year, and won both the Surrey Schools Championship as well as the Goring and Streatley Girls Open.
She also won the Surrey Adult/Junior Greensomes with her 19 year old friend at the Addington.
Sarah Jane is now part of the England regional U18's programme.
